Women of the World (WOW)
Women of World which was launched in January 2014 is an informal BME women’s group who meet every Tuesday to talk about local issues which are common to BME women within the communities. Looking to develop and build their own capacity in areas of interest to them.
The overall aim of WOW is – ” To develop and add value to the work of the SBCC by being a project which has a visual presence in the City, promoting BME female activities and issues, working alongside the SBCC and its other work.”
So far the group has been involved in many activities which have engaged and informed others about the group and issues effecting local BME females. The group is open to all females and every Tuesday morning the group has their coffee morning from 10.30am to 12.00 noon. Anyone interested to be involved or find out more about the project are welcome to come to the coffee morning.
